According to www.elearnspace.org, connectivism is the integration of principles explored by chaos, network, and complexity and self-organization theories. Technology plays a huge part in our lives today, and it is everywhere! In the matter of a minute you can sign online and talk to friends or family who live hundreds of miles away. It opens up an endless amount of possibilities. Classrooms use textbooks which contain information for a group of several people, but with the internet you use a search engine and get thousands and thousands of results. Many of the older teachers don't feel comfortable using technology in their classrooms, but is that a good reason to keep this form of technology away from the students?

Answering your question, no I do not think it a reason to keep the technology from students. More than ever students are needing to learn all they can about how to use computers and the internet. Our world is changing to a more technology controlled place and our students need to be prepared for everything to come.
